Largest tournament payout in kayak fishing history!Southern California native Mark Pierpont nails a 36+ lb halibut during the Marina Del Rey Halibut Derby in Los Angeles County, CA. Mark nailed his "car hood" halibut midway through the first day of the two day tournament. The weight was enough to take 3rd place in the overall. Mark won over $3,000 in cash including a fishing trip to Mazatlan, Mexico.
