Jackpot Bass & Halibut Shootout

Saturday Jan. 17

Baby Beach, Dana Point Harbor, CA

Catch & Release Bass Division
The heaviest 3 bass combined weight total for the C & R Bass division wins it. Sandbass, calicos and spotted bass count as long as they're of course legal and alive. We take your 3 heaviest bass weights and total them up. Highest weight total wins. One bass puts you on the board. Artificials (lures) only. Live well, large mesh game bag or floating basket is required to enter this divison.

Halibut Division
Heaviest halibut wins. If no one catches a halibut, the money and prizes will be added to the C & R Bass divsion purse. The same goes for the C & R Bass divison. If no one brings in a legal bass, the money and prizes from that division will be added to the Halibut division purse. Doheny State Beach is just south of the harbor entrance. The area just in front of Doheny and south is infamous for having a good halibut bite. Bait is ok.

6:00-7:00am Sign In
Sign in for both divisions starts at 6:00am at Baby Beach, Dana Point Harbor. Pre-registration isn't neccessary. Just show up before 7am. The cost to enter the jackpot is $10 with 100% payout. Upon sign in, let us know if you'll be entering either the Halibut or the C & R Bass division. You can launch as soon as you check in.

12:00-1:00pm Weigh In
We're spreading the sign in and weigh in window over an hour time frame in order to prevent harbor congestion. Weigh in for both divisions will start at noon and finish up around 1:00pm. What time you land and weigh in is totally up to you as long as you're in by 1:00pm sharp, ready for weigh in.

Jackpot pay out, prizes and barbeque will immediately follow the weigh in.
