: Met Greg, Corey, Phil and his brother in law around 9:30 at our secret spot (Dog Beach) rigged up and walked the beach waiting for the Grunion to land. Around 10:00, I started seeing darting Vs in the shallow outgoing water. By 10:30 they were showing in scattered spots and everyone was scooping up 1 here and there. I fished with a #2 hook on 15# and a splitshot.By 11:00 they were pretty thick and you could just grab a fresh bait off the beach after a couple casts. Hooked up a little after 11:00, looked like a short at first, but decided to see if anyone had a measure. Corey had a mark on his rod and it went 22.5

That looks like that hill on the rt when you cross the border,lol. Btw, what is that first picture of? Great report. I was talking to a guy that lives in between Escondido Cyn and Paradise Cove. He was telling me last season that they caught something like 17 halibut (kept 5) in one day, just from the shore (during a grunion run I believe).
