Met Greg, Corey, Phil and his brother in law around 9:30 at our secret spot (Dog Beach) rigged up and walked the beach waiting for the Grunion to land. Around 10:00, I started seeing darting Vs in the shallow outgoing water. By 10:30 they were showing in scattered spots and everyone was scooping up 1 here and there. I fished with a #2 hook on 15# and a splitshot.By 11:00 they were pretty thick and you could just grab a fresh bait off the beach after a couple casts. Hooked up a little after 11:00, looked like a short at first, but decided to see if anyone had a measure. Corey had a mark on his rod and it went 22.5". Dinner tonight. Gotta try again, tonight.
