I think that first picture is his camera flash reflecting off all the beached grunion. I have a stack of pictures just like that from most grunion runs I've seen.
Question: When you fish the grunion at Dog Beach are you fishing the river outlet or actually casting in the surf? Do the grunion ever run up into the river mouth?
