Those Sof loc soft clips are the best thing for securing a spear gun. I have the deluxe hard paddle clips on the right of my kayaks and the suf lok soft clips on the left. I use to use bungees strung through the eyelits to secure the spear gun. Sof loc is the way to go all the way. Check out http://www.gotomarine.com. Be sure to confirm that they have them in stock before ordering them.
I like having my VHF in on my person. I use a small Cetacea retractor to secure it. The male clip goes on the vhf and the female on the retractor. I can't emphasize enough how these retractors are the best way for securing gear that you still want/need to access and use.
