: : Can anyone who has paddled the more popular fishing kayaks provide any insight as to which is the most stable? I will refer you to Ocean Kayaks, as I am sposored by them. Try out the Malibu2 or Malibu2 XL, and the Ambush last. Too many other factors will go into the stability issue. I like the tandem as a solo kayak for increased room, and sability, and the ability to load on a large fish or bring the kids with you. Also the tandems will be wider and slower to paddle, but not by much. Trade offs are worth it if stability is your only issue. TL Rhino

In my opinion,It's very hard to find a more stable yak than the Cobra fish and dive. It also has a 600 lb capacity, and ample storage below decks. A great many yak owners in SoCAl share my view and you will no doubt hear from them in followups to this. recently it's gotten down to a shoving match between the Cobra Fish n Dive and the the Malibu Kayaks Extreme, another very stable boat ,according to info I've heard. I've paddled it,it's a speedy boat and the manufacturers are great people(I also have a Pro 2 Tandem!),but IMHO the F-N-D is a much more fishy boat!
