I will refer you to Ocean Kayaks, as I am sposored by them. Try out the Malibu2 or Malibu2 XL, and the Ambush last. Too many other factors will go into the stability issue. I like the tandem as a solo kayak for increased room, and sability, and the ability to load on a large fish or bring the kids with you. Also the tandems will be wider and slower to paddle, but not by much. Trade offs are worth it if stability is your only issue. TL Rhino
