I've been using the surf to summit GTS for 8 months and consider the holders to be rock solid, they don't move an inch. I keep em leashed to the D-ring right at the top of the tube and then wrap the velcro strap around the grip 1X. I'm not sure about value... but if it answers the question: after using this seat, I wouldn't hesitate one second to buy another one if this one got stolen, so I guess value is relative. Hope this helps.
