I got to the beach a little late this morning. The fog up north was just burning off; the surf was in the 2 to 3 foot range with an occasional 4 to 5 footer.

I radioed from shore and located one of the usual suspects. While paddling out to meet Jimm I came across Cucamonga Keith (pictured) http://www.fishingkayaks.net/ who was here prefishing for the August 30th kayak fishing tournament. He told me of loosing a couple of big fish early while fishing in the predawn.

The water was green, 67 degrees and calm. The PB’rs were on the outside of the kelp and the boat traffic was lite to nothing. I trolled macks all the way out to the horn and back for no hookups. The day was so clear that I could monitor boats at the 327 and it sounded as if some of them were doing quit well. Just how far a paddle is it to the 327?

On my way back in I stopped long enough to pick a few cherries for the BBQ.

Just another day in paradise,
John
