hey guys,

i am looking into getting a FF for my new 'yak, and i don't want an externally-mounted transducer. i've noticed almost every article/post i read talks about mounting them inside the hull. so my question to all you gurus is this: do i have to buy a top-of-the-line FF to get a "shoot-through-the-hull" transducer or can pretty much any transducer be mounted in the hull and still work properly?? please post cause i'm at a loss.
