You actually launch at Davenport Landing, which is about a mile up the road to the North. It's the first paved road on the left going North.
The road goes out to a cool pocket beach then curves back out to Hwy 1. The launch is in deep water with a reef on one side and a headland on the other.
Waves can be 3-6' on each side, but only 6" at the launch point. Good reefs and kelp beds there as well as sandy areas for flatties.
It's far enough away from town that fishing pressure is light, and rockfish and lings are numerous.
