We hit the mothership trip on the Vision out of Santa Barbara for Memorial Day. Great water, no wind, calm seas. Fished Gull Rock or Gull Island, backside of Santa Cruz Island. Usually a great shot at White Seabass here, but nothing big today. Pleanty of action, catch and release on calicos and lots of short lings. Kept 5 assorted rockfish for tacos. Well worth a drive to get on one of these trips. Arco Island has slowed as has the local Salmon bite, though I did get a 15lber on Saturday off Arroyo Burro Beach, one for five of us is tough fishing. Fish live in the water, go get em boys! TL Rhino
