: You need to get some weight on your bait to get it down. The seagulls will pluck it right off the top of the water. You will know right away when your line goes up in the air over your head and then out infront of you. It's funny the first couple of times, but dehooking gulls sucks. I had to dehook a commorant once that dove to the bottom and picked up my trap rig. That one was bill hooked and wing hook. Don't worry, all waer fowl have been safely released.If you can make it to Walmart, pick up a couple of crocodiles. Chrome and green. Also a couple rapalas, maybe some storm baits. Walmart is open till 10:00pm Go to the tackle and tips section of this website and look at the carolina rigging section. You can use that method to troll your bait.
RE: It was noted that if you fish over 1/2oz you need to install 2 keepers if you use them. It stops the line fray.
