I just bought a kayak, a Pro Explorer, and I would like to start kayak fishing in the San Diego area. I'm lost when it comes to salt water fishing so any advise is greatly appreciated. What do you old salts recommend for decent starter fishing equipment? (rod, reel, lures etc.). Are there any bargains at Big 5 or Sports Challet that I should check out? I'm planning on starting in Mission Bay till I get some experience and juevos to try the kelp beds. Thanks for your help.
