You're right the 38" front hatch on the Pro Explorer is nice. You can take an arm load of stuff and throw it in there no problem. It's not like your Scupper Pro TW for speed and ease of paddeling. Although it did help quite a bit when I got that Onno paddle. What it lacks in speed it makes up for it in stability I.M.H.O.
