jellyfish

I was drifting at trancas a couple of weeks back and noticed a jelly fish going right under my boat. I was fishing with my legs over the side. Has anyone ever been stung by a jelly fish? What would be the best thing to do if it did happen? Just kind of scared me to see it so close to my legs.
