I have fished all up and down the big sur coast from San Simeon to Carmel. Limekiln and Mill Creek are great areas, however, the live fish commercail guys have taken all the fish out of the first few kelp beds so you have to paddle up or down a few reefs, but once you get to the good ones, its on Big Sur Wildstyle. Every time I go down there I explore a bit more underneath the bridges and at the pull offs for obscure little trails, and there are a lot that would obviously lead to some sick fishing grounds, however, getting your kayak down 300 ft of cliffs could be a little bit problematic (unless you have a truck with one of those winders on it). Willow Creek is the best of the middle spots. Fish the huge rock thats out about a half mile, and the first kelp bed rule of fished out stands for this area as well.

: have you tried further south... just south of big sur the town(just past Andrew molera) the coast starts to hook in a bit and offer a bit of reprive from that north west wind...like the mill creek area or lime kiln... I gotta get out the de Lorme but have you ever fished around there?
