: We worked it out on the forum. Thanks Salmon Slammer for the picts and info. It's a Kelp Fish. The one Joe caught today was a different species from the one's I've previously caught. Actually the markings were similar. It was the color that threw me off. The lighter color species are known as the "Elegant" species and the more redish-orange ones are known as "Island" species.

Nice going. my favorite fish name is the Sarcastic Fringehead. hard to top that one for odd names. Bleny is kinda cute tii.
