Hit the water with a friend, looking for T-sharks, launched into small stuff about 7:15am, glassy, calm water prevailed till about 12:30pm. Landed macks green and spanish, anchovies, smelt, sardines, even some 5" bonita, all were on the sabiki. Pinned on the macs on leaders, (300lb mono, 12'w/ Owner 7/0 circle hook), looking for big stuff. Only takers were the masses of Horned Sharks or Pinbacks. Landed 3 on the halibut stick, while the big leader would come back stollen or chomped in half. Headed into the kelp after 11:00, bass were a pick, few here and there, but nice size, all released. Most came on the Fishtrap 5"#64 Salmon. Stained water with pockets of red tide mixed with the good water. Fished the breaks for best results. Headed up to Santa Barbara for a look at Naples and point further for the long weekend. Happy 4th and tight lines Rhino
