I have always gone with cheap ones. Now the guides are all rusted out. As in the chrome came off. So I stell woll them after each use and put some corrosion x but obviously they are on their way out.I'd always thought better to spend the dough on airline tix but now I am thinking jeez if i blow all that money and get there and my equip is so so then what the heck. I think the chrome is the same stuff they put on the toys that come out of the 99 cents stores. I am referring to Ugly Stick Tiger and, ok I admit it, Eagle Claw. Don't laugh cus I caught a dorado, big jack, and rooster on that 40 buck rod in one day. Anyway I am looking to upgrade to a better set, 7 footers, 20-30#, and I am considering the seeker American series. Do the guides have much better chrome that lasts longer? I always cleaned mine with water after fishing. Or do I need a rod that has those plastic fuji guides? What are your experiences? I travel a lot with mine and want something durable. Some of you guys seem to like the graphite rods but I have so far preferred the fiberglass for it's durability.Another question, is the Seeker classic series significantly better than the American series? Thanks in advance guys. Also if you have any slightly used rods that you are ready to unload let's talk.
