: I think that like the other bass tournamemts, it should be spread over 2 days.
: Any bonehead can get lucky one day. Even me.
: We've all seen jackpots on boats go to the first-timers that happened
: to catch a big sheephead or halibut. (and usually on the last spot)

: Also you can't compare that to Albacore fishing.
: Thats not something you do every weekend for free.
: The rush and the fight and the table fare is included with that price.
: And not for just one lucky person. (usually)
: (sorry, I'm a stupid critic sometimes)

You got it right Jimbo, I have lost may juackpots to first timers who were plunging when we had good surface fish.
I'm not comparing it to albie fishing, what I am saying is that we spend a lot of money for many trips. Sure we can kayak fish often for peanuts and that's great. I would think $3000.00 bucks would be big incentive.
Years ago Oceanside had a big oney prize that was cumalitive (sp) my buddy and I were sure it was gonna be ours. We were partners and had been on a "roll." As we walked out on the pier a dude said , "hey guys someone won the big money yeaterday." We turned and went home.
