Get away from the "how big a boat can I get away with" mentality and look at "which boat better suits my needs". I'm 6'4", 270# and chose the ProE over the Extreme as my second yak and I paddled both models. Don't let storage space make your decision either, the ProE has more storage than I can possibly use, and I'm a tackle ho! I started with a bigger boat but for the types of launch sites I have access to, #2 was a no brainer and it rapidly became my primary yak. If you can drive right up to a nice calm water put-in, then maybe an eXtreme is for you. Paddle both and then think realistically about what your circumstances are and what obstacles are present with a bigger boat. Good luck, Malibu makes ggod yaks, and their service for me has been second to none.
