Two years ago, a friend of mine bought the ProExplorer (before the Extreme came on the market). He just recently bought the Extreme and likes it much better than the ProExplorer. He is 5'7" and weighs about 165#. He doesn't have any trouble with the Ex.
I have the Extreme and loading it by myself is easy BECAUSE I use a Yakima boat loader. I would suggest you check into the boat loader. My opinion would be to go with the Ex hands down. It's a much faster boat, very stable, comfortable and has lots of underdeck storage.
