I haven't gone out in search of tuna or dodo from my yak. It would be a blast. Did you purchase a VHF Handheld yet? If not, Standard Horizon makes a couple really nice submersible models. I have the 350 and love it. Got it for just under $200 and West Marine. Though I had to bring in a printout from an different online store so they could match the price.

: Well.....after demo'ing seven other yaks at the Sunset CK store I made the plunge and bought a Pro2 Tandem. My son and daughter are ecstatic(as am I , of course). Will try it out Tuesday AM in Redondo trying for the boneheads. Thanks everyone for the great tips. Hope to see and meet some fellow yak fisherdudes!
: Got to thinking, has anyone tried yak'ing on the inner banks(267, 277, 14 mile bank, etc) for the dodo's/tuna/yt? Was thinking it would be a blast to lash the yak down to my 20' Trophy and try some offshore yakkin for some pelagics!
