Flipper and I got our new kayaks (Malibu Explorers) wet for the first time. We decided to hit the headlands at Dana Point but when we got there it was prety rough. Change of plan... Doheny for halibut.
Got picked up several times on plastic and kept one butt 28 incehs. Had another BIG butt on but had to abort becase a set was coming in on me and had to paddle my ass off just to keep from getting creamed!
Good day on the water... only fished for an hour but that was enough to break in the new yak.
**I was VERY happy with the pro explorer! Easy to paddle and very stable and fishable! If your tired of your Fish N Pig aka (FnD) try the Explorer. Its everything the FnD is but better!
