My boga grip is the small Berkley one. It doesnt have a weight scale on it though. I have a cheap Wally World (i get everything from there almost) scale that ran me about 2 dollars. The grip came from there also. I think it was $25 bucks. The ones with scales run around $75 and up. I like it a lot. It doesnt float but it has a small leash I keep wrapped around my wrist to prevent losing it while in use. I've boga'd on up to about a 28 inch red drum, I think he was about 15 pounds too. Can't thumb those guys in the mouth, my dad tried once and almost had his it crushed. I've never lost anything while landing them.
Honestly, I would use a gaff if possible, but the three things I primarily fish for are highly regulated in size. I don't want to kill it if I can't keep it. Also, its most certain that I will see the park ranger when I land on the beach or am leaving. They are always in a cooler checking mood here.
