: : : : I do not own an Extreme and its impossible for me to test it out since I'm on the east coast. Does anyone know if I will be able to take my son who will be about 4(40 to 50lbs) on the Extreme? It wouldn't be a very comfortable ride for him. I'd get a tandem yak if you're planning to bring your son along. The extreme is stable enough but there isn't a second seating area for him. jasThanks jas,how about if I put him in front of me where the rectangler hatch is? I heard you can put a small child on the Fish and Dive. I thought maybe Extreme can do that also. The extreme doesn't have a 2nd seating area like the Fish N'Dive does. If you put your son on the rectangle hatch just in front of the extreme's seatwell, you wouldn't have enough room to paddle, maneuver, fish, etc;A tandem or a Fish N'Dive is a good option. I'd still check out tandem yaks as well. Most can be rigged for solo. Some even have a 3rd seatwell for single seating. The reason for the 3rd seatwell is to have a better position for balance while paddling/fishing the tandem solo. Jeff "Rhyno" Krieger, guide and shark guru rigs his tandems for solo. jas

I have a Cobra Fish-N-Dive and a Malibu Pro2 Tandem. The F-N-D doesn't trim well with a person in the front! I weigh too much, about 275,and when my 100lb daughter sits in the front, the bow is lower than the stern! It's plowing! The Pro2 Tandem works great with two people in the designed seating, and if I go solo,I sit in a slightly more forward spot!(about 2 feet forward!)
The Cobra Tandem Has the exact hull design of the Fishn-Dive,but the deck has dual seating. There's the capacity and stability of a FND and utility of a double!

By the way,Biggie, you don't say where yuo are. You should do a post on the east coast boards.I know there are people back there who have Extremes. They may offer to hook up with you and give you a test drive. One of them is Cliff Blair in Brockton ,Mass. Put your location up!
