Meet up with Captbaja at Leo 630 this morning. Cool brisk moving Santa Ana moving down through the cyn, and low tide with 3ft waves greeting us. We didn't like the idea of the wind being up that early and the exposed rocks with a the steady outside break. So we cruised up to Deer Creek and paddled out in less wind, but bigger shore break. Very uneventful day on the water. No butt's on the outside, just a lot of dinky sandbass eating dead chovies. I managed to find one that was legal along with a 11"sculpin and a perch. Never have kept a perch to eat, but with the fishing the way it was I figured it could be tasty. While we're out our launch area was invaded by surfers having a ball with the swell. Hearing their hooting & hollering made both of us nervous on coming in. The set waves were near 5ft, but we found our window to avoid a pounding. Off the water by 11:30am with a northerly breeze. Nice fishing with you Randy, lets to it again.

Tight lines & blue Skies,
Andy
