Well, after shooting my mouth off to Art that he should look at these boats before dropping money on a new boat, I decided I should see how they perform for myself. Demoed an Ex in November, and spent the next 60 days telling myself that I didn't need to switch from my FND, which I found to be a great boat.
I didn't really have a pressing need to change boats as the Fish N Dive performed every function that I wanted, but I just had an itch to have a new boat.
I knew I was fooling myself, though, when I ordered removable racks from www.pick-up-rack.com (pair of adjustable, removable racks for $249.00!) in late December. Didn't need racks for the 12.5' FND.
Got my Ex a week ago, rigged it Friday night, and put it thru the surf Saturday morning. VERY SATISFIED!!
I can't say enough positive things about my 3 years on the FND and the positive support that I received from SD Sailing Center... and I look forward to that level of support and quality in Malibu. I don't think I'll be disappointed.
