This fish came to the surface w/ out much of a struggle considering its size (33.5"). Once we looked at each other, he took off. I think I heard him laughing. I managed to bring him through the kelp and up to the top again. We went throught that a total of 3 times, and some how, someway, I was able to get him through to the top one last time for a clean gaff. I was taking special to not damage the fillets.
Thanks to Jimbo and Brendan for turning me on to the area. The fish was caught in Cambria in about 55ft of water. I also just added a FAT Red to the photos section.
