I also use the Yakima boat loader for my Extreme. Well worth the money since I am loading my kayak on top of my SUV. I like the sand dollar symbol on it too. I place a towel on the roof between the racks and a towel on the stern end of the kayak before lifting the front end. Keeps the wear and tear down.
