I have the new Drifter, and I had the old Drifter. The newer model is a vast improvement, and I agree with Rhino, and with FishinHB on everything they said about the Drifter. Contrary to the thought that because it is wide it's slow, I don't think so. Plenty of leg room, plenty of storage, and you don't feel cramped in if you are over 6'2". I do wish they would have made the tank well bigger, but that's a different, maybe future story. I take my 3 1/2 year old out on it every chance we get, and I still have room. My main reason for buying it was for surf. The fist time I tested it, in 3-4' surf, handled great. I have even come in from hooping in darkness, and had no problem coming in dry, even in the surf. Handles great in surf, which is important to me being that I'm in between two easy launch areas, LJ and Oside. Have not tried the Extreme in all fairness, but looks like it would be hard to get comfortable and take a nap on it....Just my 2 cents.
