Be fair bud. There was no "Recall" as you put it. We were made aware from several customers (Under 15) that they had hatches that leaked.

We take problems, or even POTENTIAL problems, serously and we came up with a bomb proof seal. Additionally, as part of our continuing effort to make the best kayaks available, we made changes to our front hatch that now allows more storage, creates a better seal, and significantly lightens the entire hatch.

You had a problem with your hatch seal and what did we do? We busted our humps and got it fixed IMMEDIATELY. Additionally, as I told you last week, if you wanted to trade hatch lids out, we would. All you need to do is bring yours in.

And Price? Lets compare apples to apples. The OLD STYLE drifter is currently $599.00 with one hatch, side handles and the bungee straps.

The ALL NEW eXtreme is $799.00 with three hatches, adjustable accessory straps, 2 Hatches, Surft to Summit Seat, AND Paddle.

Additional side carry handles are $14.00, per pair, installed.

You want the eXtreme alone like the Drifter, with one hatch and added side handles and you are only talking $558.00

So Apples to Apples the eXtreme is STILL $41.00 less. Then add in our service, which I am sure you can vouch for, and the fact that besides our 100% satisfaction guarantee, we are STILL the only company with such an extensive LIFETIME warranty, and what is the better deal?

Now shall we bring in speed and stability?

Obviously no one boat fits everyone, and Ron, like myself, is a big guy, but this is why we suggest people try as many kayaks as they can prior to making a purchase. Find the boat that works BEST for you.
