Hi Pat,
Have you paddled the Extreme? I think there's a post on this board by a guy who did a speed test on it. It's a fast boat. Plus it's stable, like a rock. I don't like the idea of going for an unwelcome swim while I'm a mile out in the ocean.
I rented the Extreme on Saturday and the next day I bought one. A friend of mine is going to buy one this Wednesday. The Extreme has a bigger tank well than the Drifter and underdeck storage. If color is a consideration, I saw 2 new colors that I hadn't seen before.
