Dan the rule of thumb is try before you buy. yaks are like be-u-ti-full women some like blondes , some like brunettes, factors that weigh in on your purchase is how much you weigh distance to paddle, type of fishing , how much gear you take,do you want a tank well or is a hatch ok,do you want a sit on top(sot) or a sit in kayak(sink)? but some of the main ones out there are wilderness systems tarpon(real, real nice,&fast, ocean kayak scupper pro tank well(good yak),heritage fisherman, ocean kayak drifter, wilderness systems pamlico and pungo, cobra fish n dive or navigator ,necky dolphin. yes i know more than three but there are different characteristics for all of these boats I have different sites saved that has reviews on these boats if you are interested just let me know
with that being said I Went a different path and BUILT my own sit on top out of plywood.hope this help if ya need more info post or email me
safe paddling
shipwreck out

: I'm from the east coast and really interested in purchasing a kayak for fishing in the ocean and it's inlets...can you simply name the top three kayak brands and or styles that would suit my needs??? Thanks in advance...Dan
