I had a great time! The conditions were great when we launched. Water visibility was amazing. Though that was about to change.

The weather didn't cooperate with us for about half of the trip. The first leg was uneventful, even in regards to the fishing...super slow for all of us. Kurt hooked up to a bonita and things started to look up. Shortly after that, we got into a school of bonita and "bonita-sized" mackeral. After a couple hours of very little action, the bonita/mack bite was just what we needed.

The wind picked up a bit. The 2nd leg was certainly an uphill battle. With the wind and wind waves in our face, it made for tough fishing. I think we all turned off our fishing mode and went strictly to paddling. Not long after, a rain system came in and dumped on us for the last leg of the paddle. If you didn't have the right gear on (I believe all of us did), it would have been pretty uncomfortable.

The conditions made the paddle tougher but when we finally pulled into Dana, the storm system seemed to have past.

Everyone made it in fine. Even with the bad weather here and there, the trip was easier than I thought it was going to be.
It was great meeting some new faces and seeing old ones again. Thanks Chuck, John, Kurt, Jason, Paul, Kevin, Jack & Greg. I had a great time and look forward to our next paddle. Thanks also to CaboJohn for lending us a hand in the morning with the kayaks. That was really really cool of you to do especially considering you couldn't make the paddle. We'll see you at the next one.
