: Rhino,Thanks for the advise. All things aside I'm still not convinced a bangstick and a flying gaff wouldn't be the most efficient means of dispatching a very large fish. The thought of trying to lasso a pissed off T-sharks tail when I'm fatigued and possibly in low light conditions doesn't sound ideal. But I'll forget the idea (since it sounds like nobody will come near me if I have one)and yield to your expertise. I'm looking forward to taking one of your T-shark seminars here soon. Also someone said you have a video on the subject. Is that true? If so where can you get one. I promise this will be my final word on the bangstick subject. Let the jokes fly.

I have considered bang sticks for Barn Door Halibut in Alaska, and some super sized Rhyno Balz attached to a small harpoon, mostly for flat fish over 80lbs. For the stuff off our coast, you just dont get enough shots at big stuff to justify the expendature. Modern bang sticks are full of safety measures so you dont miss fire and blow a hole in person or property. Video from Inside Sport Fishing.com or most tackle stores that carry their videos have them or can get them. A hand held VHF is a must tool, and it can help you hail other crafts to assist in the big capture if need be. TL Rhino
