Launched at 6:15..still in the dark. Headed out and down the coast in about 70ft of water, pulling a Krok and some random diving plug. I stopped on a few meter marks that I got and threw Storm baits in white and chartreuse for a few 12-15" sandies. I kept paddling along until I was just about in front of Pelican Hills GC. All of the sudden I could see huge bait balls coming up, with bait jumping all around me. I first got slammed on my Krok as I paddled right through the first bait ball. About a 3lb Bonito. Then it went wide open. All I wanted on the Bonito and a few fat mackeral. I kept a few mackeral and trolled them near the kelps and rocks for nothing on my way back. As I was heading back in the harbor, I could see north of the jetty one of the biggest flocks of birds diving and crashing about 1/2 mile out. Boy, those bonito are pretty fun on 6lb. My first stop on the bonito was in about 100' of water, than it was just follow the bait balls and birds. Landed at about 11am.
