: 1) Is it safe to kayak when there are several large sharks swimming around the kayak?2) How do you land a T-shark that is the close to the size of your kayak?I went out with a friend yesterday, saw some birds, and decided to check it out. We arived about a mile and a half to two miles out and suddenly a huge shadow came underneath by kayak (HUGE) I yelled to my friend to come close cuz i saw a shark and when he got near I could just see him pointing right behind me (i was looking at him) I turned around and 10 feet from my kayak was a huge shark surfacing. Anyway we decided to try and catch it rather than be wusses and head directly home. I was not at all prepared for sharks (gear wise) but i tried anyway. I got that shark to hit a big macarel but it cut me off rather quickly. We then began to see more sharks all around. it was real strange. I threw on a 14 mag rapala and started to troll, 1 minute later i hooked up and about an hour later i had the monstrous shark to the boat. (we also saw several more while i was hooked on that one.) Anyway I'm pretty sure the shark was close to the size of my kayak (est. 2 to 300lbs) and i had no idea what to do. He wasnt tired at all and it was getting dark. too bad i had to cut the line and head home. Thanks for your response
