Hey Ted,

I just bought a Matrix 35. You can either glue the TD to the inside of the hull (use 2 part, slow cure, Marine epoxy) or use a Thru-Hull TD. Most Hummingbirds come with a Transom Mount TD which you can exchange for a Thru-hull. See the Hummingbird website for details.

The Thru-hull td has a stem on top of the puck (4") and it fits right up through the scuppers in the kayak. It's almost like it was meant for Kayaks...super easy!

just make sure you don't beach your kayak too hard or you risk scratching the transducer puck. Repeated scratching hinders it's capability.

Good Luck!

Sean

: Hey guys:I'm interested in a fish finder for my scupper pro and have read a lot about the various ideas, thanks. I still have one question: Are all transducers capable of shooting thru the hull? I definitely see the value in mounting the puck inside but does this limit me to certain makes/models? Can I buy any model of Humminbird or Garmin etc. and mount it inside? Please give the wisdom of your successes and failures. Thanks, Ted
