: It was good to finally meet Jason and some new faces as well as old.I was so pleased over the exuberance displayed by this very enthusiastic group. These events seem to have personalities and this was the very best!True, we may not have the very fishable waters of san Diego county, but you all sure made the most of things, red tide be damned! It sure was no deterrent!We Missed Whitey, Scott Shaw, Vic, Perry, gripper mike and several others who are mainstays. I will post some stats in a few days as well as photos if I can figure out how!I said the "thank yous" at the derby, but we sure do have some good sponsors don't we? Last year Randy sent a thank you to some and believe me, it had an impact. Besides, it's lways a classy thing to do and JRD is a classy guy. If you want to write to any, and need an address, just ask me.I made it a point not to mention our "almost" guest speaker. Yes, many e mails from "ARNOLD'S" people, but they just couldn't guarantee his appearance, thus I could not announce it. They do know how we feel about closures and have expressed interest.I also failed to plug Pacific Coast Sportfishing magazine. Few know I am doing a monthly column on "our" sport. If you have ideas and, or contributions just give me a holler!Jerry Esten
HEY JERRY, THE DERBY WAS MY FIRTS EVENT, AND IT WAS JUST GREAT. I WAS THE GUY WITH THE GREEN EXTREME, BUT ANYWAYS I WOULD LIKE TO HELP OUT IN ANY WAY TO SET UP SOME EVENTS IN THE FUTURE. SO IF THERE IS ANYTHING I CAN DO TO HELP OUT IN THE NEXT EVENT LET ME KNOW. THANKS GARY G.
