: Cliff, How many hours do you get out ofyour battery?Have you ever had it run out of juicebefore you got back to shore?Any other info would be great. Thanks,Mark

Most of the time I just use a small 38 amp gell cell, average fishing time 4 hours, never run out. Using a 34 lb thrust Motor Guide. I had a 40 lb Minn Kotta Maximizer that I tank tested using a 105 amp trolling battery that ran for 30 hours before I gave up and turned it off. It was simply too tall so I never used it fishing. The Maximier is a pulse system that gives you 5 times the running time at lower speeeds.
The cheap Motor Guide is fine for my aplications.
A $39 75 amp trolling battery from Walmart gives me 7 hours and still running. I figure if I run out so what? Yaks are meant for paddling.
Ocean Kayak sells a special 24 inch shaft Riptide 40 lb thrust made for salt water, lists at $209.
The Motorguide is $79 to $97 and works fine...Cliff
