Thought I was being all cool and launched at 2pm today off Bahia Pt. I'd spent the better part of the morning over at SR Plastics working with Scott on some custom Plastic Navy color reapers and was itching to give them a shot. As soon as I launched, though, I knew I was in trouble.

The water was green, brown and every color but good. Low visibility all around and pretty ugly.

I was also attempting to experiment with a new size spinnerbait with these trailers. Additionally I was using spectra on my crankbait rod for the first time - that was weird. I felt every tick, bump and strand of eel grass and even a couple of hits but nothing stuck. Weird. (no leader - 20lb test).

To make things even more complicated I was carolina rigging a rootbeer power worm that got picked up once but didn't get the hook.

All of these new obstacles I willingly put in front of myself on top of the messed up water brought me a grand total of ZERO fish. F#$@ing A. I never skunk. Humbling day. Saturday will be better, I'm sure. The bay never stays messed up for long.

I stopped by Allen's shop, though, and sat in the Prowler again. Man, I like this boat. It's long, sleek and going to be a great fit whenever I get a lumber rack for my truck. Anyone have a cheap source for that?
