RE: It's not that the swivel won't work, but in casting this rig, it will not wrap the leader around the weight(stand out), like the swivel. I also use a banana sinker with beads as a trolling rig and it works also.
The unique thing about this rig is that the sliding effect of the tube covering the weight brass to inhibit fowling of the leader, nothing else.
