100 yard spool and 80 feet deep

Ric and Davey,

The depth charts on the spool are figured for trolling motor boats and probably figured that a diving rapala is not being used.

Also keep in mind that a boat is very heavy and pulls through the water much differently than a kayak.

I would not believe it if I did not use a fish finder, but a slow deliberate troll at 9 colors will get very deep. That is only 90 yards of Lead core.

The reason why I can troll 9 colors is that I troll from a Pro 2 Tandem. The width of the kayak and the fact that it is designed for two people helps compensate for the pull you might experience on other kayaks. I think managing 9 colors on a touring hull or sit-in would be very difficult.
