I use the biggest Rapalas I can. I rarley catch trout smaller than 13 inches with this method. With the 4 pound test, you have a fight several times on the way up and then definately at the surface. The light leader can break so there is a lot of finess that goes on to get the fish landed.
It's an adjustment to make from saltwater. Bass on 15 and 20 pound get lifted by the line out of the water and then lipped, just don't forget you have 4 pound leader in freshwater and make that mistake.
Silver and black, Gold and Black and fire tiger patterns. I wonder how those will work at a place like crowley?
