first time out to dana point, and first time testing my bait tank. launched from baby beach at 6:15 and trolled a shad rap to the bait barge for nothing. Filled up the tank with a mix of dines and chovies and immediately hooked up with a mack. decided to paddle outside, but came back in after snagging twice and catching only a croacker. i wasnt sure what to do out there, next time i'll remember to bring the fish finder. anyways, back in the bay the action was a little better. ended up with four short halibuts, another mack, and something that looked like a croacker but wasnt. landed at 10 and was very happy with how things turned out today.
