The guy at Squid Co told me that the Penn Reel Co has been sold to a manufacture in China. The cause wasn’t labor costs but instead it had something to do with the plating process and costs associated with disposing of the hazardous waste left behind after you chrome plate something. I would assume the American made reels would go up in value because they are no longer being made here.
