Hey Stephen,
When I used to live in Monterey we would fish Moss landing lagoon/estuary for sharks on the incoming tide. Just plan on going in with the tide & out with it or you can get stuck fighting the current & the mud banks. We even used to hunt ducks out of our yaks there and in the Salinas river. Out in the bay a little ways you'll find the usual cast of characters along with the occasional schools of striped bass and salmon. Keep your eye on any bird action. Also launching from the coast guard pier or a small launch point halfway from the pier to the lighthouse point is usually productive and always incredibly scenic. Then you have stillwater cove but you gotta access pebble beach. You live in a great place, I miss it. Your also so close to point lobos, santa cruz & don't pass up trips to big sur for nearly virgin fishing grounds. If you haven't heard the whole bay is now a marine sanctuary so double check for any funky regs. Enough from me for now. I gotta go figure out how to get otta L.A.

Tight lines...........Jeff
